Los primeros días del mes de setiembre se hicieron públicas las listas de nominados correspondientes a la 43 edición de los CMA Awards. El próximo 11 de noviembre se hará entrega de los premios, en la conocida como la Country Music's Biggest Night, a celebrar en Nashville y transmitido por la cadena de televisión ABC. Brad Paisley y Carrie Underwwod harán de nuevo de maestros de ceremonias.
La CMA se fundó en 1958 para promocionar la country music en todo el mundo así como defender los intereses de todos aquellos profesionales que de uno u otro modo forman parte de esta industria dsicográfica, fue la primera de esta naturaleza en el mundo. Originalmente estaba integrada por 233 miembros, en la actualidad superan los 6.000, distribuidos en más de 40 países. Estos premios de gran prestigio son muy apreciados porque suponen el expreso reconocimiento implícito de sus propios compañeros de profesión . Para poder optar a cualquier categoría de premio es preciso haber realizado el disco, video etc dentro el periodo comprendido entre el 1 de julio del año precedente y el 30 de junio del año en curso.
