El pasado 3 de diciembre se hicieron públicos los nombres de los nominados a los premios Grammy 2008. La cantante country Taylor Swift reveló las nominaciones de los premios Grammy de este año, celebrado en el teatro Nokia de Los Ángeles. Taylor compartió su trabajo como co-presentadora con Mariah Carey y LL Cool J. Entre los músicos que deleitaron la velada con sus interpretaciones en vivo en este evento fueron: John Mayer, Foo Fighters, Celine Dion y B.B. King. El espectáculo fue transmitido en el canal de televisión CBS a partir de las 18:00 horas en L.A. La entrega de los premios será el 8 de febrero del 2009 una vez más en el Staples Center en Los Angeles. Aquí está la lista de las principales categorías de los Grammy country. Como sabéis las nominaciones incluyen grabaciones que salieron entre el 1 de octubre, 2007, y el 30 de septiembre, 2008.
George Strait es el artista que acumula un mayor número de nominaciones, concretamente cuatro. A continuación con tres nominaciones se encuentran Jamey Johnson, Sugarland y Trisha Yearwood.Podríamos destacar asímismo que Patty Loveless y James Otto han alcanzado dos nominaciones, al igual que la compositora Ashley Gprely.
